With all the Harvey excitement in Houston and the surrounds, it might be a good idea to review some Emergency Preparedness for our area.
Evacuations are not unique to hurricane and tropical storm areas - just the other day we had a couple of pretty good sized fires, one out on the flats by the lake west of our communities and one up above Eagle Wood. The first was not a big deal, other than devastating our air quality. The second, people were notified that they might need to evacuate. Are you ready to evacuate or shelter in place if necessary?
I was perusing the WX City website today and found this great link to Be Ready Utah - check it out: https://www.utah.gov/beready/index.html
There was a pretty good link on Children and Disasters that I think is very applicable to our communities: https://www.utah.gov/beready/family/children.html
Lastly, with the power outage a few weeks ago, how many of you would be interested in learning about emergency power?
